All of our source code is now hosted on Github. If you have a GitHub account, I encourage you to fork CloudFusion, make improvements, then send me a pull request so I can merge your changes in.
If you use the software and you notice something wrong, report it as a bug. Even better: fork it, fix it, and ask me to pull in your changes. This will make improvements happen faster!
Is there something we can do to simplify the workflow in a certain area of the project? Please suggest it.
I would love to support the entire suite of Amazon, Eucalyptus, and Rackspace cloud computing services. But to put it frankly, I'm only one man.
I've purposely built CloudFusion in a way that is easy to extend and build on top of — precisely so that fine folks like yourselves can add support for the services that are important to you.
If you want to take the initiative, fork CloudFusion, add support for the features and services you want, then send me a pull request. I'd be happy to help document and test your changes.
We use the very simple PHPT unit testing format — the same used by the PHP QA team. We are able to execute these tests with tools like PHPUnit to generate code coverage reports.
We also use some of the unit tests as code examples in the documentation. This way, the code used in the examples is always up-to-date because it's the same code we use to test CloudFusion!
Lots of people have mentioned nice things about CloudFusion on Twitter, but Twitter is fairly ephemeral and after a couple of months you can't even search for those nice comments anymore.
Better yet, blog about CloudFusion. Write up tutorials. Do screencasts that show people how to do cool things. Then, let me know about it. I'll be sure to promote your blog post, screencast, or nice comment on the site.
As any developer of public-facing software knows, support questions can eat into the time that the developer would otherwise spend working on the software.
If you're interested in helping, answering other people's questions in our Google Group can potentially save me a lot of time, and allow more time for development.
